Handmade Pressed Flower Creations
Our Story
Like many new small businesses The Flower Bandits began at the start of the 2020 Corona Virus pandemic. Being pregnant with my second child combined with being a nurse during a pandemic left me struggling with mental health issues. Collecting and pressing flowers became my escape. The year 2020 had been one of the worst years for so many people. But for me and my family 2020 is a year that has so much meaning. Our beautiful baby boy was delivered into a world of chaos and uncertainty. But when the world came to a standstill, our beautiful baby boy came and reminded us that even in the most hopeless times the flowers still grow. The Flower Bandits is inspired by the loves of my life - my little family. The Flower Bandits started with collecting wildflowers on our family walks by the river in Carrick-on-Suir and pressing them in between the pages of a book. A passion was ignited and The Flower Bandits was born. Over thirty flower presses later and boxes upon boxes of pressed flowers, The Flower Bandits has grown beyond my imagination. I am so grateful to be able to share this journey with you all and hope that you love my pressed flower creations as much as I love making them.

Our packaging & sustainability
Being eco friendly is our priority.
-
We care about the environment:
All my packaging is recyclable and eco friendly. I've put a lot of time and effort into sourcing packaging materials that don't include plastic but that will also ensure frames arrive safely.
-
We are eco friendly:
We're deeply committed to being kind to our planet. We've put considerable thought and care into ensuring our practices are as eco-friendly as possible. Whenever possible, we minimise waste by selecting recyclable and biodegradable packaging.
-
Sustainability is important:
At The Flower Bandits, we firmly believe that sustainability isn't just a buzzword; it's a core value that guides everything we do. We've invested considerable time and research into ensuring our practices are as gentle on the planet as possible.

The Flower Bandits FAQs
-
Are there any flowers that don’t press well?
While most flowers can be pressed, certain blooms with high water content, such as succulents or very thick flowers, may not press as well as others. We can advise on the best flowers for pressing and suggest alternatives if needed to ensure a beautiful result.
-
What types of flowers can be pressed at The Flower Bandit?
We specialise in pressing locally sourced Irish flowers, including Irish wildflowers. We can also preserve flowers from your special occasions such as weddings, anniversaries, or funerals. Our service allows you to capture the beauty of flowers from bridal bouquets, memorial flowers, or any personal arrangement you wish to preserve.
-
Can I customise the frame for my pressed flowers?
Yes, we offer a range of customisation options. You can choose from our pre-designed shapes and sizes or opt for a completely custom frame. Our Custom Package allows you to create a piece that fits your style and home decor, with the option to include additional items such as bookmarks or jewellery. There's also the option of adding written details to all our frames.
-
How long does the flower preservation process take?
The preservation process can take between 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the type of flowers and the complexity of the arrangement. We take great care in ensuring each flower is dried and pressed to perfection, preserving its colour and detail. Once your flowers are fully pressed and dried, they will be stored away safely until it is time to move onto designing your frame. You will be added to an email list and will receive monthly updates. Our turnaround time from receipt of bouquet to completion of your preserved floral piece is 6-9 months.
